A major road widening operation is underway by the administration in the densely populated and sensitive Dalmandi area of the city.
Today, the administration’s bulldozers were back in action, and a large number of police personnel were deployed to maintain security. During the operation, the police had to disperse the crowd, after which security was further tightened throughout the area.
First strict action in the Muslim-majority area

This is the first time that the administration has taken such a major action in the Muslim-majority area leading from Dalmandi to the new road.
The building owners had previously protested against this widening, but the administration made its decision clear and resumed the demolition work.

The situation remained tense for some time during the operation, but the police and administration brought the situation under control.
The administration says that this action is being taken under the city’s master plan and for traffic improvement.
Their priority is to maintain law and order and widen the roads according to the city plan.
For this, a large police force and PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) have been deployed at the site, and the entire area is being monitored with drones and CCTV cameras.

The administration believes that road widening will reduce traffic congestion, improve traffic flow in the area, and enhance the safety of citizens.
