Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, took off at 1:38 pm IST with 242 people on board—including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Within five minutes of departure, the aircraft crashed near the Meghaninagar area, close to the airport.

The plane went down in a residential area, triggering a massive explosion and fire. Dramatic visuals show debris engulfed in flames and thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
