Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Bada Dev Sthapana program at the sacred site of the Gond community in Odan village, Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. On this occasion, he performed traditional rituals and prayed for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that such traditional and spiritual events play a crucial role in strengthening cultural heritage, faith, and social unity.

During the event, he also unveiled the statues of Chhattisgarh’s first freedom fighter Veer Narayan Singh and warrior queen Rani Durgavati, paying tribute to their bravery and sacrifice.

He highlighted that Veer Narayan Singh led the resistance against British rule during the First War of Independence in 1857 and was martyred on December 10, 1857, at Jaistambh Chowk in Raipur. His sacrifice remains a lasting inspiration in India’s freedom struggle.

The Chief Minister also praised Rani Durgavati for her courage and self-respect, noting that she chose to sacrifice her life on the battlefield rather than surrender to the Mughal forces, setting a remarkable example of devotion to the nation.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MP Kamlesh Jangde, former Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, MLA Sandeep Sahu, Zila Panchayat President Akanksha Jaiswal, Vice President Pawan Sahu, former MLA Dr. Sanam Jangde, and a large number of citizens.

The program stood as a significant reflection of faith, culture, and history, reinforcing the rich heritage of Chhattisgarh.
