The administration in Khongapani, under MCB district, has taken a strict stand against encroachment and carried out a major demolition drive. In Wards No. 1 and 7 of the Nagar Panchayat, the revenue department conducted , using bulldozers to remove illegal constructions and reclaim government land. The action created a stir across the area.
Long-Standing Encroachments Targeted
According to officials, people had been illegally occupying government land for a long time by constructing houses, shops, and other structures. Continuous complaints were being received by the administration.
Based on these complaints, notices were issued earlier, directing encroachers to remove the illegal constructions voluntarily. However, when the deadline passed without compliance, the administration initiated strict bulldozer ACTION
Heavy Deployment During Action
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Lingraj Sidar, along with the revenue team including tehsildar and patwari officials.
To maintain law and order, police forces from three police stations were deployed at the site to handle any untoward situation.
Illegal Structures Demolished
Officials confirmed that several illegal constructions were demolished during the drive, and government land was successfully cleared of encroachment.
The administration has clearly stated that no illegal occupation on government land will be tolerated, and such drives will continue in the future.
A crowd of local residents gathered during the operation, but due to strong police presence, the situation remained fully under control.
The administration has appealed to citizens to avoid encroaching on government land and to comply with notices in time to avoid strict action.
