In a historic step towards strengthening emergency healthcare services, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off 370 new ambulances for deployment across all districts of the state. This includes 300 Basic Life Support (BLS) and 70 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances. With this, the 108 ambulance service has been fully activated across the state, ensuring timely and quality medical assistance during emergencies.

Introduction of Neonatal ALS – A Major Milestone
For the first time, the state has introduced 5 Neonatal ALS ambulances, dedicated to emergency care for newborns. These ambulances function as “mobile ICUs for infants”, ensuring safe and advanced medical transport for critically ill newborns to higher healthcare centers.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Address
Addressing the gathering, CM Sai stated that the state’s healthcare system has seen significant transformation over the past two years. He emphasized that public trust in government hospitals has increased due to timely and improved treatment facilities.

He highlighted the expansion and upgradation of sub-health centers, primary health centers, and community health centers, which has reduced the need for patients to travel to cities for basic treatment.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s target:

Ambulance within 15 minutes in urban areas
Ambulance within 30 minutes in rural areas
He added that this expansion of 108 services will further strengthen public confidence that the government stands firmly with citizens during emergencies.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal’s Statement
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal described the day as historic for the state’s healthcare sector. He stated that lakhs of people will benefit from faster medical services. He also highlighted that Chhattisgarh has become the second state in India to launch Neonatal Ambulance Services.
He assured that any delay or negligence in ambulance services will be addressed immediately through a special monitoring system.
