#UP FIRST . Special Program on Women’s Empowerment Held at IMS BHU in Varanasi .

A positive and inspiring initiative has emerged from Varanasi, where a special program dedicated to women’s empowerment and recognition was organized at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS BHU) on the occasion of the International Women’s Day fortnight.

The event was organized by the department and focused on recognizing the contributions of women, promoting awareness about women’s health, and highlighting their vital role in society. A large number of doctors, faculty members, and medical students participated in the program and shared messages encouraging women’s empowerment.

The program was chaired by the Head of the Department, Deepa Mishra, who emphasized in her address that women play a crucial role in the development of society and that prioritizing women’s health and education is essential for progress.

The chief guest of the event was Anupriya Rathore, a recipient of the National Lalit Kala Akademi Award. She delivered an inspiring speech highlighting women’s strength, confidence, and their growing influence in society.

Several senior doctors and faculty members, including Katyayani, Sunita Suman, and Mukta Sinha, were also present at the program. Medical students actively participated and shared their views on women’s empowerment and social awareness.

During the event, discussions focused on women’s health, education, self-reliance, and their role in shaping society. The initiative aimed not only to celebrate International Women’s Day but also to strengthen respect and awareness for women across the community.
