On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Uttar Pradesh government, a grand mela (fair) was organized today at the Kashi Vidyapith Block Auditorium by the Secretaries of Self-Help Groups. The Health Department also distributed free medicines to the public during the event. The fair featured a wide range of products, from clothing to household items, showcasing local crafts and community initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, Block Head Pravesh Patel highlighted the achievements of the UP government under CM Yogi Adityanath, stating that the past nine years have seen significant development across the state, including better infrastructure and improved law and order.
He added that earlier, criminals operated with impunity, committing robberies and even murders in broad daylight. Over the last nine years, CM Yogi Adityanath’s administration has balanced development with strict crime control, making the state safer for citizens.
Key development works, including bypasses, roads, sewer systems, and drainage projects, have been successfully completed in Varanasi and continue to progress.
The event was attended by Block Development Officer Rajesh Yadav, Assistant Development Officer Panchayat Sunil Srivastava, SHG Secretaries Ayush Vijay Kanaujia and Suyash Srivastava, local officials including Yogendra Pal Shahid, ASHA workers, members of Self-Help Groups, and Health Department staff.
The mela not only celebrated the government’s development initiatives but also highlighted community participation and strengthened the bond between citizens and governance in Varanasi.
