A controversy involving rapper and singer Badshah has intensified in Haryana after the Haryana State Women’s Commission ordered his arrest. The commission has directed the Superintendents of Police in Panchkula and Panipat to take action and also seize his passport to prevent him from leaving the country. The order was issued after Badshah failed to appear before the commission on Friday despite being summoned. Instead, a panel of lawyers appeared on his behalf and informed the commission that the singer could not attend due to professional commitments. They requested additional time for his appearance.

However, Women’s Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia expressed strong displeasure during the hearing. She warned that if Badshah did not appear before the commission by 3 PM, strict action would be taken against him. Following this, the commission instructed police officials to proceed with his arrest and ensure that his passport is confiscated.

Controversy Over the Song ‘Tattari’

The controversy began after the release of Badshah’s song “Tattari” on March 1, 2026. Several social organizations and the Women’s Commission objected to the lyrics and visuals of the song, alleging that it contained obscene language and portrayed women in an objectionable manner.

There were also allegations regarding the filming of the music video. Scenes featuring a government school in Sachcha Khera village in the Narwana area of Jind and a Haryana Roadways bus were reportedly shot without official permission.

Song Removed From YouTube

Following the controversy, Panchkula police reportedly got the song removed from YouTube. Several social groups and khap panchayats also demanded a ban on the song, claiming it hurt Haryanvi culture and sent the wrong message to society.

Badshah Issues Apology

Amid the backlash, Badshah released a video apologizing to the people of Haryana. He stated that some lyrics and scenes from the song may have hurt sentiments and requested forgiveness, adding that he himself belongs to Haryana. The Women’s Commission had issued a summons to the singer on March 6, asking him to appear in Panipat on March 13. With his absence from the hearing, the commission has now indicated strict action in the matter.
