In a major step towards strengthening both agriculture and clean energy, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to distribute Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) under the Kusum ‘C’ component of the Pradhan Mantri KUSUM Yojana.
The initiative aims to connect farmers with solar energy generation, enabling them not only to meet their own electricity needs but also to earn additional income.

The Kusum (Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme is a flagship program of the Government of India that promotes solar energy use in the agricultural sector.
Under the ‘C’ component, farmers can install grid-connected solar power plants on their agricultural land. This allows them to:
Generate electricity for irrigation and farming needs
Sell surplus power to distribution companies (DISCOMs)
PPA Distribution: A Key Milestone

The Chief Minister will distribute Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal. These agreements formalize the arrangement between farmers (or developers) and electricity distribution companies for the purchase of solar power.
This step ensures long-term income security for farmers by guaranteeing that the electricity they produce will be purchased.
