Serious allegations have surfaced against a chemical factory in Ujjain, where former workers claim that exposure to toxic chemicals and gases during their employment has significantly affected their hearing ability. Despite repeated complaints, the workers allege that no concrete action has been taken so far.

According to the affected workers, around 30 to 35 individuals who worked at the factory at different times are currently suffering from similar health issues. Some of them have reportedly reached a stage where they are unable to hear without the help of hearing devices.

The workers stated that the factory was involved in the manufacturing of pesticides, and during chemical reactions, toxic gases and fumes would spread across the premises. This exposure allegedly caused not only hearing problems but also irritation in the eyes, breathing difficulties, and other health complications.

One of the most concerning claims made by the workers is that they were not provided with any safety equipment or adequate health-related information while working in such hazardous conditions.

The victims further revealed that they have raised the issue multiple times at administrative levels and have also approached the labor court, where the matter is currently under consideration. However, they claim that no relief has been provided to them so far.

In one case, a worker reported that a family member has suffered 80 to 90 percent hearing loss and has even been issued a disability certificate.

Due to their impaired hearing, many workers now face difficulties in securing and retaining jobs, as they are often removed after a short period due to their condition.

The affected workers have now appealed to the Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, seeking intervention. They have demanded a fair investigation, strict action against those responsible, and proper compensation and support for the victims.

Meanwhile, Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh stated that a complaint has been received regarding adverse health effects on factory workers. He confirmed that an investigation is underway and further action will be taken based on the findings.
