A tragic incident has emerged from Raipur, where three sanitation workers lost their lives after entering a sewage tank, while another worker is battling for life. The incident took place near Pachpedi Naka, behind Ramkrishna Hospital. According to initial reports, the workers had entered the sewer tank for cleaning purposes. Unaware of the danger inside, they descended into the tank, only to be overcome by toxic gases.

Within moments of entering, the workers reportedly lost consciousness due to suffocation. There were no safety kits, oxygen support, or proper rescue arrangements in place at the site.

The deceased have been identified as Anmol Manjhi, Govind Sendre, and Perra Kumar. All three were primary breadwinners for their families, leaving behind grieving relatives.

The situation outside the hospital turned highly emotional, with family members breaking down in grief. One relative was heard pleading, “Bring my brother back,” reflecting the deep anguish of the affected families.

Amid the grief, anger also erupted. The families have accused the hospital management of gross negligence, alleging that the workers were sent into the sewer tank without any safety measures, despite the known risks of toxic gases.

The situation escalated further as protests broke out outside the hospital. There were reports of scuffles between the police and the aggrieved families, along with incidents of stone-pelting. Heavy police force was deployed to bring the situation under control.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and questions are being raised over safety compliance and accountability.
