Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will interact with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students during the inaugural ceremony of the India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) Annual Championship Conference on August 6 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Mumbai.
The event marks the 15th anniversary of I.I.M.U.N. and is expected to bring together over 2,000 students aged 15 to 19 from more than 100 cities across India, making it one of the world’s largest youth-led conferences.
The conference will focus on youth participation in leadership, democracy, and nation-building. Dr. Bhagwat’s address will inaugurate the championship conference, where students will engage in discussions and debates on local, national, and global issues under the theme, “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way.”
Speaking about the event, Rishabh Shah, Founder of I.I.M.U.N., said that leadership is not just about guiding the next generation but also listening to it. He described the interaction as an important dialogue at a crucial stage in India’s journey and expressed gratitude to Dr. Bhagwat for accepting the invitation.
Founded in 2011, I.I.M.U.N. is a public affairs platform dedicated to encouraging civic engagement and promoting the idea of Bharat among young people. The organisation conducts 108 conferences annually, along with thousands of community initiatives led by volunteers aged 15 to 24.
Over the past 15 years, many former participants have gone on to become elected representatives, civil servants, lawyers, authors, entrepreneurs, and professionals across various fields.
The organisation’s Advisory Board includes prominent personalities such as Ajay Piramal, Deepak Parekh, Nadir Godrej, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Karan Johar, P.T. Usha, and former Chiefs of the Armed Forces.
Today, I.I.M.U.N. operates in 275 cities across India and 40 countries, reaching over 7.5 crore young people through partnerships with more than 1.5 lakh schools and colleges. Over the years, it has hosted 32 Heads of State, Nobel Laureates, Academy Award winners, and over 34,000 distinguished speakers from around the world.
