A significant initiative has been undertaken in Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh to promote road safety. Superintendent of Police Padmvilochan Shukla launched a helmet distribution campaign to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of wearing helmets.

Under this campaign, helmets were distributed to people with the support of various hospital operators in Barwani. The program was organized at the Kotwali Police Station, where along with helmet distribution, hospital representatives who contributed to the initiative were also felicitated.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Padmvilochan Shukla emphasized that a majority of road accident fatalities involve two-wheeler riders, and not wearing helmets is one of the leading causes. He stated that wearing a helmet is not only a legal requirement but also essential for personal safety.

Taking a major step, he announced that wearing helmets has been made mandatory for all police personnel in the district starting from April 1. The objective behind this decision is for the police to lead by example and encourage the public to follow traffic rules seriously.

As part of the awareness drive, a helmet rally was also organized to spread the message of road safety. The rally was flagged off by the SP.

This initiative is expected to play a crucial role not only in ensuring compliance with traffic rules but also in saving lives by promoting responsible riding behavior.
