Uttar Pradesh has embarked on a historic journey of development over the past eight and a quarter years, a journey that was unimaginable before 2017. Prime Minister Modi’s vision and Chief Minister Yogi’s strong administration have together made UP a leader in ‘Ease of Doing Business’. From the first Investors Summit in 2018 to the Global Investors Summit in 2023, the state has received investment proposals worth more than ₹45 lakh crore. This transformation is not just on paper, but is clearly visible in the form of ₹15 lakh crore in implemented investments and the foundation stone laying of over 16,000 projects.

Restoring Trust: From the fear of criminals to investor confidence
Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was known for its weak law and order situation and corruption, leading to investor apathy. Upon assuming power, the Yogi government cracked down on crime with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy, restoring the lost confidence of investors. Transparent portals like ‘Invest UP’ and ‘Nivesh Sarathi’ eliminated red tape. Today, the result is that investors who once feared coming to UP now consider it the safest place to invest.

Groundbreaking Model: Success from MOUs to the start of production
The biggest achievement of the Yogi government is that investment has not been limited to mere announcements or MOUs. Through four groundbreaking ceremonies held so far, the foundation stones have been laid for over 16,000 projects worth ₹15 lakh crore. Of these, commercial production has already started in more than 8,300 projects. Uttar Pradesh’s dominance in the mobile manufacturing sector is such that more than 65% of the country’s mobile phones are now manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. From Semiconductors to Data Centers: Uttar Pradesh Becomes a Hub for Future Technologies

The state is now moving beyond traditional industries to become a center for high-tech manufacturing. To fulfill the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), Uttar Pradesh has expanded its defense corridor, data centers, semiconductor policy, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs). Mega units like Adani Defence and BrahMos have made the state a stronghold for national security production. Simultaneously, cities like Noida and Lucknow are emerging as global IT-ITeS hubs.
