Political and administrative tension is increasing in Rajasthan over the announcement of Panchayat election dates. The elections have been delayed as the report from the Rajasthan OBC Commission has not yet been submitted.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan State Election Commission has issued a warning to the state government and the concerned department. According to orders from the Supreme Court of India and the Rajasthan High Court, Panchayat elections must be conducted by April 15.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Verma has written to the Panchayati Raj Department, clearly stating that if elections are not held within the stipulated time and the courts initiate contempt proceedings, the concerned departmental officials will be held responsible.

According to sources, the list of wards reserved for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) has not yet been submitted to the commission. Due to this delay, the election schedule has not been announced so far.

The State Election Commission has also indicated that if the OBC Commission’s report does not arrive on time, it has alternative options to move forward with the election process.
The key question now is whether the OBC Commission’s report will be submitted in time or if the Panchayat elections in Rajasthan will face further delays. The issue has become a major point of discussion at both political and administrative levels.
