Indore has received a major development boost as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase-4 of the Narmada Water Supply Project.
This ambitious project, being developed under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, involves an investment of approximately ₹1356 crore. Its primary objective is to ensure sustainable and clean drinking water supply to meet the growing needs of the city’s population.

The mega project will be executed in four key packages:
Package-1:
Development of a 1650 MLD intake system, a 400 MLD advanced water treatment plant, pumping stations, and modern water infrastructure.
Package-2:
Construction of a 39 km gravity pipeline, tunnels, and a chlorination plant to improve water distribution efficiency.

Package-3:
Installation of 20 new overhead tanks, upgradation of 29 existing tanks, and provision of approximately 1.26 lakh new water connections.
Package-4:
Development of 20 additional overhead tanks, modernization of older tanks, and around 1.21 lakh new connections.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the project will not only address Indore’s current water requirements but also build a robust and future-ready water supply system. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring clean and adequate drinking water for every household.
Once completed, the project is expected to benefit lakhs of residents and significantly reduce water scarcity issues in the city, marking a major step forward in Indore’s urban infrastructure and quality of life.
