Chhattisgarh has recorded a significant achievement in the mining sector. In the financial year 2025–26, the state’s mining revenue surged to ₹16,625 crore, marking a 14% increase over the previous year and achieving nearly 98% of the set target.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, this success is the result of transparency, technological innovation, and strong administrative management. According to P. Dayanand, Secretary of the Mining Department, the growth reflects good governance, effective policy implementation, and robust monitoring systems.

Interestingly, the average annual growth over the past five years was only 6%, but this year’s growth has more than doubled to 14%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the government’s reformative and technological initiatives.

Key Factors Behind the Growth

Efficient optimization of dispatch routes by NMDC and other public sector undertakings.
‘Minerals 2.0’ IT-based platform improving operational efficiency and transparency.
In the upcoming year, minor minerals will also be integrated into the Minerals 2.0 platform, creating a fully digital and unified mining ecosystem.
Expanded use of VTS, i-Check Gates, and drone-based monitoring for enhanced oversight of mineral transportation.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai stated, “Our goal is to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the management of mineral resources. This will not only strengthen the state’s economy but also provide additional resources for developmental work.”

With this achievement, Chhattisgarh has strengthened and made the mining sector more transparent while boosting revenue. This milestone is being hailed as a major step forward for the state’s mineral-based economy and overall development.
