The PM Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana in Madhya Pradesh is no longer just a government initiative—it has evolved into a powerful mission shaping the future of millions of children. The program is being effectively implemented across government and government-aided schools, ensuring nutritious and balanced meals for students from Class 1 to 8.

According to official data, nearly 2.3 lakh women cooks are actively involved in preparing meals under this scheme. Their contribution is not only strengthening child nutrition but also emerging as a strong example of women empowerment in the state.
The scheme is currently operational in around 87,915 Bal Vatika, primary, and middle schools, and is being managed by approximately 65,464 Self-Help Groups, ensuring smooth and community-driven execution.

To further enhance efficiency, the program is also supported by centralized kitchen systems in 66 urban areas across 22 districts, improving both quality and large-scale meal distribution.
The impact of this initiative is clearly visible on the ground:
Over 24 lakh children in more than 57,000 primary schools are benefiting
Around 15.6 lakh students in over 30,000 middle schools are covered

The government’s objective is clear—no child should go hungry, and every child should attend school, learn, and progress in life.
The PM Poshan Scheme is not only improving the nutritional status of children but also playing a crucial role in increasing school attendance, especially among rural and underprivileged communities.
