Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to women empowerment, describing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as a historic step towards inclusive governance and stronger democracy.
Addressing the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan held at Ravindra Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that the current phase marks the beginning of a “new era of political empowerment for women” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A New Era of Women-Led Governance
Dr. Yadav emphasized that the provision of 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies will significantly enhance women’s participation in policymaking and governance. He noted that this move would make India’s democratic framework more inclusive, balanced, and sensitive.
He further stated that empowering women politically will strengthen the foundation of democracy and ensure better decision-making at all levels.

Madhya Pradesh Leading by Example
Highlighting state-level initiatives, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is already setting benchmarks in women empowerment. He pointed out that 50% reservation for women in urban local bodies is being implemented, enabling greater grassroots participation.
The state government is also observing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Pakhwada’ (April 10–25) to spread awareness about women’s rights and leadership. Various programs, including public outreach campaigns, padayatras, and conferences, are being organized across districts.

Empowerment Beyond Politics
Dr. Yadav highlighted that women empowerment today extends beyond political participation to economic, social, and leadership roles. He stressed the importance of taking the “Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan” to every household, ensuring widespread awareness and participation.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking bold and transformative decisions that have strengthened both Madhya Pradesh and the nation.

A Transformative National Reform
The Chief Minister described the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as a “revolutionary and transformative reform”, stating that it reflects the government’s commitment to women-led development and inclusive growth.
The legislation is widely regarded as a landmark initiative that will redefine India’s democratic future by ensuring greater representation and leadership opportunities for women.
