A major anti-terror operation is currently underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, where security forces have established contact with terrorists in the Gambhir Muglan area. The operation, codenamed “Operation Sheruwali,” is being jointly carried out by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and the CRPF.

Intelligence-Based Operation

According to official sources, the joint operation was launched on Friday morning following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the region. Around 11:30 AM, security forces conducting a search operation came under contact with suspected terrorists, triggering an exchange of fire.

The troops responded swiftly with what officials described as “calibrated action,” and a full cordon has now been established around the area to prevent any escape.

Search and Combat Operations Continue

Security agencies have intensified search operations across the surrounding forested terrain. Additional forces have also been deployed to strengthen the operation and maintain surveillance in the sensitive zone.

The White Knight Corps confirmed that the encounter is still ongoing and troops remain engaged in the operation.

Security Tightened in the Region

Following the encounter, security measures have been heightened in nearby areas. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure civilian safety and prevent any untoward incident.

Officials have not yet released details regarding casualties or the number of terrorists involved, as operations continue in the area.
