The Flexner Report of 1910: Healthcare or a Commercial Takeover?

The Truth About Abraham Flexner:

A school administrator—who was neither a doctor nor a scientist—changed the destiny of medical practice worldwide during a tour lasting just seven weeks.

The Rockefeller-Carnegie Nexus:

How the ‘financial weapon’ of multi-billion-dollar funding was utilized to build the empire of synthetic drugs derived from petrochemicals (the Pharma Industry).

The Great Medicinal Shutdown:

In a single stroke, America’s 155 medical colleges were reduced to 31; Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Ayurveda were branded as “unscientific.”

Ever-Increasing Diseases:

Hospitals, doctors, medicines, and vaccines have proliferated, yet neither diseases nor the number of the sick has declined—the bitter truth behind this ‘cascade pattern.’

Introduction: How Did Medicine Turn from a Vocation into a Business?

Today, a strange paradox surrounds us. We possess the world’s most expensive machinery, diagnostic centers dot every street, and there is an abundance of medicines and vaccines—yet why are human beings sicker, weaker, and more dependent on medication than ever before? As the number of hospitals and medicines has increased, illnesses should have declined; instead, they continue to rise steadily.

This system was set in motion 116 years ago, as part of a calculated global strategy. This is the story of a historic document—one against which no country in the world dared to stand.

In the annals of medical history, it is known as the ‘Flexner Report of 1910.’

Who was Abraham Flexner? (The Non-Medical Auditor)

The man destined to shape the future of the medical world knew not even the “ABCs” of medical science himself
Abraham Flexner was born in 1866 in Louisville, Kentucky. He held only a B.A. (Arts) degree from Johns Hopkins University and subsequently pursued studies at Harvard and in Berlin. By profession, he was an educator and a school administrator.
He was not a doctor, nor had he ever felt a patient’s pulse. He possessed no practical or theoretical experience regarding the genetics of the human body or biological consciousness.
He was, purely and simply, an administrator who assigned ratings based solely on files and infrastructure.

Why and by whom was this report commissioned? (The Rockefeller Connection)

At the beginning of the 20th century, there was immense diversity in medical education in the United States. There were 155 active medical schools, where Eclectic Medicine—a form of herbal medicine analogous to Ayurveda—Homeopathy, and Allopathy (which was then referred to as Bio-medicine) all coexisted.

During this period, two prominent industrialists emerged in America—John D. Rockefeller Sr. and Andrew Carnegie.

At that time, Rockefeller owned the world’s largest oil empire—Standard Oil. Scientists discovered that the petrochemical byproducts generated during the oil refining process could be utilized to create synthetic chemicals and medicines.
Rockefeller and Carnegie realized that if the entire world could be made dependent on these chemicals—specifically chemical-based medicines—it could evolve into a profit-generating empire even larger than the petrochemical industry itself. However, standing in their way were natural and traditional healing methods; these were highly affordable, based on plants and nature, and—crucially—could not be patented.

Why was Flexner selected?

In 1908, Henry Pritchett, President of the Carnegie Foundation, hired Flexner.

Just prior to this, Flexner had authored a report titled “The American College,” in which he offered a scathing critique of the structure of higher education. Pritchett believed that such a trenchant critic—one who did not hail from the medical field—could lend the guise of ‘impartial reform’ to his agenda.

What did the report contain? (The Monopoly Blueprint)

In 1910, the Carnegie Foundation released this report under Bulletin Number 4, titled “Medical Education in the United States and Canada.”

Within a mere seven weeks, Flexner conducted a cursory tour of all 155 medical schools across the United States and formulated a set of guidelines that effectively severed the roots of traditional medical practices:

The Imposition of the German University Model:

The report asserted that the only valid form of medicine is that which is laboratory-based and relies on patented chemicals.

Recommendation to Ban Traditional Practices:
Homeopathy and herbal medicine were declared “unscientific” and “sectarian.”
Closure of Colleges for Black Students and Women:

It was recommended that five of the eight medical colleges for Black students in the U.S. be shut down on the grounds of being “inadequate,” thereby ensuring that medical practice remained solely in the hands of a wealthy, elite syndicate.

The Post-Report Cataclysm (The Financial Strangulation)
Following the release of the Flexner Report, governments did not directly close down colleges by enacting specific legislation. Instead, financial weaponry—specifically “financial warfare”—was employed to achieve this end.

The Rockefeller and Carnegie Foundations began awarding multi-million dollar “massive grants” to those colleges that adopted Flexner’s chemical model. The funding for colleges that continued to teach naturopathy or homeopathy was completely cut off.

The alarming statistics from the period between 1910 and 1935:

  1. 1. In the United States, the number of medical colleges plummeted from 155 to a mere 31.
  2. 2. 22 thriving homeopathy colleges were shut down, leaving only two remaining.
  3. 3. Natural and herb-based medicine (Eclectic Schools) was completely wiped out.
  4. 4. The number of female and Black doctors dropped to less than half of its previous level.

Why did no one challenge this report? (The Mechanics of Control)

It remains a major enigma why the entire world silently accepted this report. There were five main reasons behind this:

1. The Shield of Scientific Prestige:

In the late 19th century, scientists such as Darwin, Pasteur, and Lister made genuine scientific discoveries (such as antiseptic techniques). The Syndicate associated its patented medicines with this very label of “Science-based Medicine,” leading the general public—as well as royalty—to place their trust in them blindly.

2. Unlimited Financial Power:

The Rockefeller Syndicate possessed such immense wealth that the funding for the newspapers, research labs, and universities of anyone who spoke out against them would be cut off overnight.

3. Gradual Shift (Gradual Change):

This transition was carried out very gradually over a period of 25 years. Year after year, little by little, traditional healers and doctors were systematically phased out of the system, thereby ensuring that no major revolt erupted at any single moment.

4. Monopoly of Medical Journals:

All the prestigious medical journals began to be funded by pharmaceutical companies. The publication of articles highlighting the benefits of natural medicine was completely prohibited within their pages.

The Drug Failure Pattern (The Trail of Chemical Disasters)

When the primary objective of the medical system ceased to be the healing of consciousness or the body, and instead became the sale of patented chemicals, the human body was effectively turned into a laboratory. History bears witness that this syndicate introduced drugs into the market that subsequently became the cause of mass fatalities:

Heroin (1898):

The Bayer company marketed this as a “safe and non-addictive cough syrup” for both children and adults. It was not until millions of people had become terribly addicted to it that it was finally banned in 1914.

Thalidomide (1957):

This drug was widely sold to treat morning sickness in pregnant women. The result was that more than 10,000 children worldwide were born without limbs or with malformed organs (birth defects). It was withdrawn in 1961.
Reference: Trent Stephens — Dark Remedy, 2001)

Phenacetin (1887):

This painkiller was sold worldwide for a full 96 years. It was later documented that it was directly causing kidney cancer. It was withdrawn from the market in 1983.

DES (1938):

It was administered to millions of mothers under the pretext of preventing miscarriages. Thirty-three years later, research revealed that the daughters of the mothers who had taken this drug were developing a rare form of vaginal cancer. It was withdrawn in 1971.

Vioxx (1999):

Due to this pain-relieving medication from the company Merck, between 27,000 and 55,000 people in the United States and around the world died suddenly from heart attacks.

The most shameful aspect was that the company’s scientists were internally aware of this danger, yet it was sold for the sake of profit. (Reference: Dr. David Graham, The Lancet, 2005)

The Drug Failure Pattern—A History of Experiments on the Human Body

This new model brought about genuine improvements in certain surgical and antiseptic techniques; however, it also marked the beginning of a pattern of aggressive drug sales that persists to this day.

A drug is approved, sold for years, destroys human organs, and is then withdrawn. Some major documented examples of this are as follows:

The Colonial Assault on India and Rockefeller’s Infiltration

The entry of this syndicate into India had already commenced with Lord Macaulay’s Education Policy of 1835, which declared our traditional Ayurveda and *Nadi Vigyan* (pulse diagnosis) to be of secondary status. Following independence, Western science came to be accepted as the sole yardstick of progress.

The Bitter Truth Behind the Establishment of AIIMS:

According to documents from the Rockefeller Foundation’s Annual Reports for the years 1954–1956, the Foundation not only provided substantial financial assistance for the establishment of India’s premier medical institution—AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences)—but also ensured that its entire medical education system (curriculum) was designed based on the very same, outdated Flexner Model.

The Result:

Our country’s indigenous medical science—and its understanding of the *Tridosha* (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) balance—which was capable of diagnosing ailments solely through the rhythm of the pulse, without the use of needles or surgical incisions, was marginalized and relegated to the periphery under the label of “Alternative” medicine.

Today, the Ministry of Health’s budget runs into lakhs of crores, whereas AYUSH receives only a minuscule fraction of it—despite a WHO report (2019–2034) stating that, even today, 80% of the world’s population relies on natural and traditional herbs for their primary healthcare.

In 2026, how significant a basis does this report hold?

Even today, in 2026, the entire global medical infrastructure continues to stand on the crutches of that very Flexner Model.

Even today, doctors are not taught how to heal the body using food, nature, and mental consciousness; they are merely taught which pharmaceutical company’s chemical compound to prescribe for the symptoms of a specific disease.

Choosing Wisely Campaign (2012):

The American Board of Internal Medicine itself has acknowledged that many routine tests and procedures performed in hospitals are completely unnecessary, serving only to make patients sicker by creating a ‘cascade effect.’

What could have been done, but wasn’t? (The Balanced Path)

A truly proper and balanced medical reform would have been one where:
Infrastructure and hygiene standards in medical schools were made more rigorous.
Colleges issuing fraudulent degrees were shut down.
But…
Instead of labeling Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy as “unscientific,” funding was provided for their scientific validation and research.

Instead of regarding the human body as a machine, it would be viewed as a biological consciousness (Agnilingam)—a realm where nature and chemistry exist in a balanced harmony.

Conclusion: How to Become an Informed Citizen?

The Flexner Report may well have transformed medicine from a ‘religion’ into a ‘business,’ but your consciousness remains free.
Whenever a doctor writes a long list of expensive tests or patented medicines on your prescription without a valid reason, ask questions.

Stop turning your body into a dumping ground for chemicals.

Return to your ancient roots—Ayurveda, Nadi Vigyan, and a natural lifestyle—for primary care and preventive healthcare.
