Mohan Yadav has announced an ambitious plan to transform Madhya Pradesh into the “Milk Capital of India”, emphasizing strong government support for dairy farmers and livestock owners.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister stated that the government will procure all milk produced by farmers, whether from cows or buffaloes, and ensure fair and remunerative prices for producers.

Focus on Farmers & Rural Economy
CM Yadav highlighted that under the “Farmer Welfare Year”, special attention is being given to livestock owners and dairy producers. He described the dairy sector as a key pillar of the rural economy and a powerful tool for economic self-reliance.
The government is working in mission mode to increase farmers’ income and strengthen dairy infrastructure across the state.

Major Announcements & Initiatives
- Government to purchase entire milk production from farmers
- Subsidy of ₹10 lakh per unit for setting up cowsheds with just 25 cows
- Financial assistance for cattle increased from ₹20 to ₹40 per animal
- Launch of cow ambulances for on-the-spot treatment
- Focus on employment generation in rural areas through dairy sector

Boost to Dairy Production
In collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board, milk collection in the state has increased from 9 lakh litres per day to 12 lakh litres per day.
The government has now set a target to scale this up to 50 lakh litres per day, significantly boosting production capacity.
Infrastructure & Development Push
- One “Vrindavan Gram” in every block to promote dairy and livelihoods
- Over 1,300 new गौशालाएँ (cowsheds) established
- Around 5 lakh cattle currently being sheltered and managed
- 4,156 model villages promoting artificial insemination, vaccination, and breed improvement
Schemes Driving Growth
The state government is implementing several key schemes, including:
- Ksheersagar Yojana
- Hiranyagarbha Yojana
- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana
These initiatives aim to make dairy farming a profitable, sustainable, and technology-driven sector.

CM Yadav reiterated that the government is committed to making every farmer, livestock owner, and milk producer self-reliant. He stressed that increased investment and innovation in the dairy sector will generate new employment opportunities, especially for youth in rural areas.
“We will make Madhya Pradesh the Milk Capital of India through our sustained efforts,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
